The Painted Desert Soap
Why The Painted Desert Soap?
In 2018 our family took a 21 day, 21 different spot, visit to the American Southwest! This vacation included the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon*, Antelope Canyon ( A must see! For most of us, our favorite! ), Carlsbad Cavern ( Another must see! ), and of course, the Painted Desert, along with 16 other beautiful spots!
*It’s a short hike to the bottom and if you are in good health, we definitely recommend hiking it if you go see this marvel!
We’d love to hear some of your experiences with some of these top spots if you do a review on this soap, or through email!
Just a nod to God’s glory!
Ever since then I have wanted to create a bar in honor of some of the beautiful scenery we were blessed to see! The Painted Desert Soap is that bar. I don’t claim to come anywhere near God’s creation, but I wanted to create a bar as reminder of the incredible beauty of God’s creation! These are natural clays in this bar, and similar to the colors you’ll find in the Painted Desert. We did add a tiny amount of natural food grade Titanium Dioxide to the white clay portion. We had to overcome the color the tea was imparting to the white clay, and bring it back to the original color of the clay. But otherwise, the clays are the only color you see.
Loaded with creamy smooth ingredients, we’ve added a beautiful display of clay reminiscent of the Clay hills of the Painted Desert of Arizona. Yes, the colors of the hills really are this varied, and this deep! If you have never ventured out there, please put it on your bucket list. It’s well worth seeing!
Focus on ingredients
Like always, our first focus is the ingredient list. We make sure we have loads of skin loving ingredients! From Natural Shea Butter, Meadowfoam Seed, Babassu and Avocado Oils, to Clay, Fresh Aloe and Silk, your skin is going to Love this soap! Taking good care of your skin is part of good stewardship, not luxury! But while you’re taking good care of your skin, why not enjoy it?
This blend of Essential Oils is our ”Soil” blend. We’ve used it previously in Nitty GrittyDirt Soap, and Alabama Soil. It’s a great musky, earthy blend that includes Patchouli, Cypress and Spearmint! It really does have a pleasant freshly turned soil fragrance.
This blend is great for hunters who use a scent masking soap, or for gardeners who love the scent of the soil, or for kids who love to play in the dirt, lol. If you like Patchouli, or the scent of freshly turned soil, we think you’ll love this soap!
