100% Natural Curly Hair Pomade!
Curly heads are admired the world over and most little girls want curly hair. But the reality for the curly headed is, it is difficult to manage without synthetic products! And you have to be very committed to using natural alternatives to make it through the adjustment period. Once you make it through, there is usually no turning back! You find your hair getting healthier than it has ever been, even if the texture isn’t exactly what you want. And you know the long term damage from heat and synthetic chemicals was going to damage your hair.
Our 100% Natural Curly Hair Pomade is here to help you make the adjustment. This is truly 100% natural. Please expect it to act like a natural product, which is to say, it will take some adjustment for your hair. It has a learning curve, so please don’t use it for the first time if your daughter’s wedding is in the afternoon. You will find what works for your hair through experience, but please follow our instuctions carefully the first couple times you use it!
Directions for Use:
After washing hair, squeeze out excess water, but don’t towel dry.* Remove a small amount of Pomade and spread evenly over palms of hands. If you have stored in the fridge or the product is cool and the beeswax has seized up, you may need to warm between hands by rubbing hands together lightly. Gently run hands over hair, starting at ends of hair and working toward roots. Start with 1/4 tsp and use more as necessary. Scrunch or finger comb through hair and air dry. This will achieve a slightly wet look. For less of a wet look, run your fingers or wide toothed comb through your hair after dry. Style as usual.
*If you need to dry hair a little please use a 100% cotton T-shirt! Organic natural cotton T-shirt is even better. Do not use towels, as they add static, and therefore frizz, to your hair.
Too much will make your hair greasy looking. Your hair can only absorb a certain amount of oils. This will vary for each individual depending on hair porosity. We recommend beginning with a small amount and increasing each time you use it until you find the perfect amount for your hair.
Directions for long hair:
If you have extremely long hair follow the above instructions with one exception. After shampooing, divide your hair into sections and work on one section at a time. The longer your hair, the more sections you should divide it into before working this through your hair.
Alternative instructions for dry hair:
When hair is dry remove a small amount of product with small scoop or clean, dry finger. (Do not allow water to get in product.) Rub between hands until even distributed. Pat hair with hands lightly, being careful to not apply too much to any one spot. It is a little more difficult to evenly distribute product on dry hair. Start with smaller amount than with wet hair.
This is not intended to be used every day as it may build up. (Most of us Curlies only wash once or twice a week, and it is great for that!) Use a baking soda rinse every once in a while as needed to remove build-up if it occurs. To rinse with Baking Soda simply add a small amount (1 tsp-1 TBS) to Hair Care Bar lather and gently wash as normal. Wash second time without Baking Soda. Rinse well.
If you are a curly on a natural page you probably already know this, lol. But please eschew ALL heat to your hair! It will damage your hair, and quickly!
