Coffee in your Lotion?
You bet! This 100% Natural Coffee Lotion has coffee infused and Coffee Bean Essential Oil. ☕️Yummy! Oops…Don’t eat it! It probably wouldn’t taste good!
But hey, if you want Caffeine in your body products, this is a pretty cool way to do it!
But is it good for your skin?
Caffeine is quite the rage and we are not the Caffeine experts, but there is a lot of info out there on the effects of caffeine on your skin. And hey, while you are enjoying the benefits of Caffeine, let’s make it Coffee! In fact, let’s make it this delightful 100% natural Coffee Lotion!☕️
And while we are on the subject, let’s look at the other ingredients.
Are lotions even good for your skin?
This is a legitimate question to ask. Doesn’t it seem like the lotions should actually help for more than a few hours? If you actually look at the ingredients on the lotion label it’ll give you a clue. Water will probably be the first ingredient. What this means is there will be chemical additives used to prevent the product from becoming moldy. (EEEK!) Yep, that was exactly my reaction when I realized what I was putting on my skin. I suddenly understood the reason for the vicious cycle between lotion and cracked hands. I was actually participating in it! So, are lotions good for your skin? That’s for you to decide, but the answer for a significant percent of people is, no!
Unless…
Unless you use only the good, and remove the bad and the ugly.
Let’s start here…Take a look at the back of that lotion you love. Or that new one your friend told you about that you just put in your Amazon cart. Check out the ingredients. I’ll wait while you do…
Ready? What did you find?
Water was probably the first ingredient, then likely an oil. Then perhaps a few chemical names that none of us can pronounce. Wait a minute! I thought we were trying to help our skin!?
Oils and Butters
Let’s check out the oils first. To be honest, even the oils in several regular lotions often aren’t all that good. Palm is great for soap due to its lathering abilities, but there are much better lotion oils out there! But yet, that is a common ingredient as the main oil. Or, far worse, you will often find Petroleum* products. Yikes! But wait…the label said Shea, or Cocoa Butter. Don’t be fooled into thinking it is a “Shea Butter Lotion” bc it says Shea on the label. Read the ingredient label. It has to be in there if it says it, but it can be a minuscule amount.
Then check out the other ingredients.
Water…Most lotions are 75-85% water! If you use water you have to use chemical preservatives as well. Otherwise mold and lots of tiny critters will begin to breed in there…Yuck!
But I want soft hands without all this junk!
That’s where our Lotion Alternatives come in.
First we removed the nasty chemicals! We have made a commitment to our products being 100% natural. So, obviously that junk was out from the beginning! What about the water? Well, we were a little nervous at first bc all the recipes at our disposal had 75-85% water. So, could a good lotion even be made without it? We were pleasantly surprised to discover, not only could a good lotion be made, but a much better lotion could be made without water!
And lastly, and most funly (Word?), the oils themselves! Shea or Cocoa Butter are usually at least 25%, and all of our Lotion Alternatives have nothing but 100% natural great oils, and other ingredients that are great for your skin. They also all have “Super Oils” in them! (These are those super moisturizing, $100-500 a gallon oils.) Never fillers! You have our word!
